INSURANCE BANDITS
"Twenty years no claims! Car is only worth 瞿500!... TOUGH! Your policy is still going up and not only is it going up but it's going up by 27%! Yes that is well above inflation but we are an insurance company and will do as we please.''
Do these words sound familiar? Are you one of the millions who are asking when will the government step in? After all we are legally obliged to take out an insurance policy before we can drive.
It's almost like a western film where the lone gunslinger is deputised to deal out justice to the recalcitrant families who have the audacity to drive a car, except the movie ends before we see the hero turn fat and greedy on the power he has inherited.
How far will it be allowed to go? Until everyone refuses to pay? Or until the country slides into another recession because we all need bank loans to pay for an insurance policy, WE WONT DARE USE!
All we keep hearing about is how the poor multi million pound insurance companies are struggling. What about the poor struggling families who consider selling the car every time a renewal comes up?
Gambling is meant to be a game of chance, sometimes you' re up sometimes you' re down, but not if you happen to be an insurance company, because then you are allowed to just stick your hand into someone's pocket and recoup your losses and if the mood takes you, take their pants as well.
Don't they realise theft is illegal, apparently!
There must be a fair way for us to get robbed blind. If I buy a pair of trainers that work and do the job for say twenty quid, why does it then fall on me to pay for the person who wants a pair of trainers that do the same thing but have gold laces and a calculator? Surely that's not my problem, until I accidentally kick that person and scratch the leather of course!
It's starting to feel like the only job the government does is up taxes, make the poor even poorer and reward all the robbers.
2012 is here and maybe the big event will actually be the people banding together to take on the real criminals.
Who has the real power anyway? If you get caught speeding you collect 3 points and pay a fine and then much to the insurance company's delight you are again legally obliged to inform your insurance company and guess what? You pay your fine AGAIN when they up your policy!
Just when you thought the bankers and brokers might have had a small slap on the wrist for the economic crash, think again! They are still in charge and want more than just your pants!
